8 Jan 2013 I’ll present a seminar at Centro de Física Teórica e Computacional da Universidade de Lisboa.
Here is the abstract:
“In the last 10 years there have been tremendous advances in Machine Learning models and applications. In this talk I will discuss some of these progresses, namely on Artificial Neural Networks and the so-called Deep Learning architecture. As we enter the age of big data, where vast amounts of (mainly unstructured) data is available for training, the achievements of these algorithms in fields such as voice recognition and translation, feature detection, image and video classification, fraud detection, risk management and recommendation systems is astonished. Some cases will be presented and future directions pinpointed. “
